KL Forest eco park
KL Forest Eco Park, also formerly known as Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, is a popular ecotourism in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It is also called the green lung of Kuala Lumpur.
Do you know that it is also one of the oldest jungles in Malaysia that is protected?
The park is popular for its 200m canopy walk. It gives you a feeling as if you’re walking on top of trees. Not only that, you can also get a stunning view of the KLCC tower!
Entrance to kl forest eco park
We’ve discovered a few entrances to enter KL Forest Eco Park:
- Near KLCC
- Raja Chulan
- Opposite SK Convent
Upon entering KL Forest Eco Park, we saw different gardens. There were herbal garden and fern garden. It was flights and flights of stairs before we arrived at the main attraction of the forest – the canopy walk.
At the end of the canopy walk, we had to go down another flight of stairs to a paved trail. The same trail that leads us back to the start of the canopy walk.
If you’re coming in from the KLCC or the convent entrance, you will find your way around the many hiking trails in the park.
There are altogether three trails here:
- Arboretum Trail
- Penarahan Trail
- Jelutong Trail
Note: Bring mosquito repellent as the blood-sucking devils here are crazy.
Along the way, we were just taking a leisure stroll surrounded by lush greenery. It didn’t feel like we were in the middle of KL at all!
In less than an hour, we arrived at a somewhat dodgy area that leaves to park to KLCC Tower. The fence was locked, though slightly ajar, which can accommodate an average adult human.
We sneaked out the gate, and found ourselves standing at the foot of KLCC Tower. How convenient.
Later, we realized that the locked gate no longer works as an entry to KL Forest Eco Park. It has now turned it into a Mini Zoo. Or so they called it Zoo In the City.
